Loowit (aka Mt St Helens) is likely most known for its large explosion in May 1980. That blast removed about 1,300’ from the summit and left an enormous crater along with major devastation downstream including 57 lives lost. This shot is about 12 miles NE from the crater in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
