Mt Baker Ski Area

from $20.00

Mt Baker Ski Area is a bucket list item for most snowboarders for a few reasons. First, it is one of the first places that allowed snowboarding back in the 1980s when most ski areas refused to allow snowboarders on their lifts. Second, is the legendary Mt Baker banked slalom which began in 1985 and is one of the oldest snowboarding competitions. And third, but perhaps the most important reason, the snow...Mt Baker Ski Area holds the record for the most snowfall in a single season (1,140 inches or 95 feet!) during the 1998-1999 season. Even in down years the amount of snow falling at Baker can be enormous. The infamous road gap can be seen in this picture which has been featured in numerous ski and snowboard magazines.
